Barnicle sticking to story, will keep job

In June, African Americans in Boston shuddered as Patrica Smith, one of the city's most prominent black voices in the media, went down in flames after she admitted fabricating quotes in her columns.

Last week, the shudders were replaced by snickers as Boston Globe management announced they were seeking the resignation of Mike Barnicle, who stands accused of using material from stand-up comic George Carlin without attribution.
